Nigerian-descent at Real Madrid Marvin Olawale Akinalabi Park provided his first La Liga assist in his team’s 4-1 win against Granada on Thursday.
Coach Zinedine Zidane gave the 20-year-old attacker his second start of the season but surprisingly played him as a right-back.
Zidane’s selection was justified, with the academy graduate coming up with an assist in the 45th minute, having set up Rodrygo’s solo goal.
Marvin showed good ball-control in the game, stood firm at right-back, but was substituted at half-time, having suffered a knock in the build-up to Rodrygo’s strike.
So far this season, Mavin has featured four times for the senior team and 11 times for the Real Madrid B team – scoring once and providing three assists.
Born in Mallorca, Spain to a Nigerian father and South Korean mother, Marvin is eligible to play for three countries – even though he has featured for Spain at youth level.
