The Nigerian governors forum have agreed to a report from an El-Rufai-led committee on deregulation of the downstream sector. If the Federal Government should accept that report, this means that the fuel price will rise to N385 per litre.
In this article, I will be sharing with you what could happen if the Federal Government accept to implement this suggestion or report.
The first thing that could happen is that the Labour Unions will kick against the increase and thereby start a warning strike across the entire nation.
If the government fails to reverse the price after the warning strike, the labour unions might start protesting. And one of their demands would be that if petrol price would be increased, then all state governors should start paying the 30 thounsand naira minimum wage.
