There has been multiple reports of attacks on communities in the Southwestern part of the country by suspected herdsmen. This development has since become a significant source of concern for people living in the region.
According to information gathered, gunmen numbering about 30, came on motorcycles and accessed a community through the Ewu-Ayetoro Road, inflicted machete injuries on the guard of the hotel and allegedly forced themselves on a lady.

The assailants had reportedly invaded an hotel in Ayetoro Ekiti in the Ido/Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State and kidnapped four persons.
According to a source, the attackers were quite armed to the teeth.
The incident was confirmed by the Commander of Amotekun Corps in Ekiti State, Brig. Gen. Joe Komolafe (retired). Joe explained that some members of the Amotekun corps were dispatched to the scene after learning of the attack, the assailants had however left the crime scene.
