Hundreds of people have died in a horrific car accident on the Zaria- Kano Highway’ s Karan Wali axis.

According to reports, a Kano Line Hummer Bus (KN90H42) and a private Toyota Rav4 SUV were engaged in a deadly crash on Saturday, June 5, 2021, in the afternoon (ABC550NV).

According to the report, the bus was scheduled for Kano, while the SUV was heading for Zaria, Kaduna State.

According to an eyewitness, the collision was a head- on collision between the two vehicles, caused by risky driving and overtaking along with a highway diversion.

Over 20 people were involved in the disaster, according to Samuel Aruwan, Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, who confirmed the event in a statement.

” Ten people died on the spot, while others died later at Shika’ s Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH). ” Those who were hurt are still in the hospital, ” he said.

Officials from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) were reportedly present at the accident scene and assisted in the evacuation of the dead and injured.

Governor Nasir El- Rufai, according to Aruwan, was saddened by the reports and prayed for the repose of the souls of those who died, as well as offering condolences to their families.

He wished the injured a speedy recovery and thanked Federal Road Safety Corps officials for responding quickly after the incident to evacuate the injured and clear the roadblocks.

To avoid such tragedies, he urged drivers to exercise caution and adhere to speed limits on all roadways.

In a similar occurrence, two people were killed in a deadly traffic accident involving two vehicles at Zangoro Village on the Bauchi- Maiduguri road.

Yusuf Abdullahi, Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Bauchi State, confirmed the accident to newsmen over the weekend, saying two individuals were injured to varying degrees while two others were unharmed.

He explained that the deceased’ s bodies were taken to the mortuary and then released to their relatives for burial.
