The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 155 new cases of Covid-19 in the country, taking the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 59,738.
The new cases which were announced by the disease control agency on Wednesday night, October 7, were recorded in eight states, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
So far, Nigeria now has 59,738 confirmed Covid-19 cases, 51,403 recoveries and 1,113 deaths, according to the latest NCDC data.

Meanwhile, following the reduction in the cases of the novel coronavirus in Nigeria, academic activities in Edo state private schools have resumed after six months of lockdown.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), most private school pupils and teachers in Benin City on Tuesday, October 6, complied with the federal government’s directives on COVID-19 protocols in order to curtail the spread of the virus.
It was gathered that the learning centres made buckets of water, hand sanitizer, and liquid soaps available for both parents and students before entering the school premises.
Similarly, the federal government has announced October 12, for full reopening of 104 Unity Schools in Nigeria.
This was disclosed on Friday, October 2, by the minister of education, Adamu Adamu, in Abuja while explaining that the COVID-19 curve has been flattened.
