Non Final Year Students Want Universities To Give Official Reopening Dates To HELB For Payments

After the ministry of education gave greenlight to Universities and colleges to reopen by 5th October, most of the universities have only given out official reopening dates to final year students.

According to the official memo from a number of institutions, final years will be in their respective institutions for the entire of the month of October to finish their remaining part of the second semester as well as do their final exams and graduate

This decision has left most of the non final year students in a question mark on when will they reopen. According to the reports from Mnews World, University students have raised their alarms asking their addminstrations to give out their official reopening dates to the Higher Education Loan Board to initiate the disbursement process of their allocations.

According to a screenshot shared by one of the students, the HELB officials have already allocated funds to their beneficiaries and are only waiting for official reopening dates from institutions so that they can disburse the funds to students accounts.

The email from the HELB said, “Dear student, please note that you have been allocated. We will initiate payment and give batch number once we receive the reopening dates from your school.”

This has made students to request their institutions to give out official reopening dates for nonfinal year students who are yet to know their exact reopening dates after a long period of stay at home.
