Yes, I maintain that the Inspector General (IG) of the Nigerian Police Force, Mohammed Adamu should be demoted by President Muhammadu Buhari for dissolving SARS. Why will he do such a thing so soon without considering:

1.The role of SARS in Nigeria

2.The side effect of dissolving SARS

3.The security of citizens

He just succumbed easily to the protests of Nigerian youths, who know that SARS will always give zero tolerance to any form of crime they commit. This is unprofessional of the IG!

SARS stands for Special Anti-Robbery Squad. It is a unit under the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (CIID) of the Nigerian Police Force. I must say that it’s a very important and indispensable department as long as the Nigerian police force is concerned.

Note that this unit was set up in response to the rising spate of crimes in the country; especially armed robbery and kidnapping so I understand that the intention for creating it was good and is still very relevant today. Being as relevant as that, why will the Inspector General of Police dissolve that department (SARS) so soon? He deserves to be demoted.

Definitely, in no distant time, the impact of the disbandment of SARS will surely be felt, then you all will understand that SARS should not have been dissolved so quickly and easily in this way.
