Resumption Date Is Out! National Association of Propietors of private Schools’ react.

The National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) have in its reaction to the announcement of the Federal Government giving the green light for schools to reopen for exit classes, commended the decision taken by the Federal government.

NAPPS is the apex association of private school owners in Nigeria. The association which was founded in 2005 has the aim of promoting the welfare and interaction of proprietors of private schools in ensuring the delivery of quality educational services in the country.

By government directives, classes are expected to resume from Tuesday the 4th of August to give ample time to the senior secondary students eligible for the West African Examination Council (WAEC) examinations, which has been scheduled to commence on the 17th August.

NAPPS President Yomi Otubela, in a statement made public on Tuesday, mentioned that the news of the reopening has been greeted with much cheer by teachers, students, parents, proprietors, and NAPPS.

In the statement, the association also appreciated the concern shown by the Ministry of Education and for the role, it played in actualizing the reopening at this time.

Rubella pledged that NAPPS would ensure that all safety precautions are adhered to by students and teachers and given top priority.

The president also suggested that the various state governments ensure that both the public and private schools are on the same page with the development.

Rubella revealed that the schools ought to see the reopening as an opportunity to determine the practicability of the safety guidelines in place while stating that he was confident that a positive result would mark the full resumption of schools.

Recall that schools were shut down nationwide following the outbreak of the Coronavirus earlier in the year.
