A married woman’s life is not an easy deal and many people end up giving love to the wrong person sometimes. Noela Rukundo ‘s story is something that will teach us to no longer believe and it also reveals that God is genuinely merciful.
Noela Rukundo the wife
Noela Rukundo is a woman born in Burundi who, after her death, became a widow with five children after taking her husband away from her. After her husband’s death, Noela wanted to move to Australia with her 5 children so that she could start living there again. Noela won a job in Australia, but she finds it hard to speak English, so she was
assigned to help her translate Swahili to English by a young man called Balenga Kalala. Noela and Kalala were good friends, and he was also a widower who, back in Congo in 2004, lost his wife and child in an assault before travelling as a refugee to Australia.
Balenga Kalala the husband
Noela and Kalala fell in love, and they got married to each other. Kalala treated his stepchildren like his own children, and with time Noela gave birth to three Kalala children, making a total of eight children in their household. Kalala worked very hard and he made sure he provided the family with enough income.

One day, Noela got the sad news that her stepmother who educated her right from being a kid was critically ill, so Noela had to fly back home to show her last respect for her. Noela was staying at a hotel where she would spend the night after her step-mom ‘s funeral. Noela was about to go to bed when Kalala called to check on her. Kalala asked her what the weather was like over there and she said it was sunny, but she was going to get some sleep. Instead of going to bed too early, Kalala then told her to go outside and take in some fresh air, Noela obeyed her husband believing he cared for her.
Noela immediately left the hotel complex, a man came to her pointing a gun, Noela tried to respond, but the man told her that if she moves, he’ll shoot her while she’s just going to be arrested, but she’s going to be dead. The guy told her to get into a car that was parking and waiting for her, so she went in and saw two other guys in the car. One of the men picked up a scarf and covered her eyes, and they drove her to a mysterious building where she had a chair attached to her. Noela heard one say they were going to call the boss and she heard a voice telling her what she was doing to him that he wanted her dead. Noela was shocked because she realized nobody was wronged by her.

Noela assured them she hadn’t done anything wrong, but they assured her that her husband wanted her dead. Noela couldn’t believe it, so she called her a liar, slapped her, and laughed at her, calling her a fool. She was told that she was so dumb that she couldn’t know that her husband wanted her dead, that since November she had been paid to kill her, and that Noela had traveled to Africa in January. They told her that by calling the person who sent them, they would prove themselves to her.
The supervisor then called him and put the call on a loudspeaker, and then told the person that she had been caught, and Noela was surprised to hear her husband’s voice saying they were going to kill her. The same loving voice that requested that she go outside to get fresh air is the same voice that sentenced her to death. Noela was heartbroken and thought it was the end of the road for her, but when the kidnappers told her not to think about killing women and children, her luck changed. By adding an extra sum to allow them to kill her, they extorted more money from Kalala and he transferred the money to them.
They agreed to let her go after holding Noela captive for two days. They took her outside and dropped her in the middle of the road, then gave her all the required things she needed as proof to bring her husband to justice, including a voice recording on an SD card of their calls. They also told her that she only had to leave the country for 80 hours.
She was already worried about Noela’s brother, so he called Kalala, who transferred some money to him so he could report the case of her missing sister to the police.
Noela later returned to Australia, Melbourne, where she lives, but she remained secret from her husband. When she confirmed it to her, her pastor couldn’t believe it, because he had always known Kalala as a good guy, and Noela told him not to tell anyone that she was alive. Their pastor was also the one who helped her return to Australia to fly. Kalala has already spread the news to her friends and loved ones that Noela died sadly in an accident, so they have sent their gifts and prayers to him and the rest of the family. Noela wanted to shock her husband on the day of her funeral. Her husband was sitting outside, waiting for the rest of the people who mourn her death to leave the house when something extraordinary happened.

Knowing that he had lost the case, he cried and blamed it all on the devil, and he said it was the devil who manipulated him to do so. Later, for his crime, he was sentenced to nine years in jail. Noela knew that it would be hard to take care of eight children, but she was unable to live with the guy who had sent abductors to kill her.
