Following the ongoing face-off between the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB and the Federal government of Nigeria, one of the chieftain of the Igbo socio-political organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo whose name is given as Chuks Ibegbu, has made an important statement which can go a long way to solve many problems.
Recall that the Indigenous People Of Biafra have been agitating for separation from Nigeria and the agitation has caused a lot of social unrest and economic disability in many parts of of the South- Eastern region. The group was proscribed as terrorist group by the government of President Muhammadu Buhari due to the way they started carrying out their attack on innocent citizens in some part of the country.
However, Mr. Ibegbu who is one of the chieftain of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo has called on president Muhammadu Buhari to as a matter of urgency call Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB to a discussion table where they can both discuss and iron out their grievances. He said that President Muhammadu Buhari Should call IPOB leader and any other agitating group to a round table discussion in order to stop their agitation instead of using military or police actions on them.
The onging agitation by the Indigenous People Of Biafra has caused a lot of damages in the region and President Muhammadu Buhari hasn’ t done enough to bring the agitation under control.
Of course, Mr. Ibegbu is right on point and it’ s believed that if President Buhari Can call the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB’ s leader to a discussion table, it’ s believed that the agitation will end as soon as possible. But will President Muhammadu Buhari accept this?
