TERRIBLE😭😭- Unknown Gunmen Strike Again, Many Feared Dead

Unknown gunmen killed five soldiers and wrecked their operating vehicle during an ambush in Ihiala, Anambra State.

The incident happened last Friday at one of the several security check points on the Owerri– Onitsha Road in Anambra State.

Security personnel shut the Onitsha bridgehead Wednesday, halting vehicular movement on the route, in response to the soldiers’ deaths.

At the border between Anambra and Enugu, security officers stopped automobiles from Enugu State for a stop and search.

Ikenga Tochukwu, a spokesman for the State Police Command, acknowledged the incident but did not disclose how many troops were slain.

He said the leadership was still looking into the matter and that the public will be informed when the time came.

Between the hours of 7 p. m. and 6 a. m. , the Anambra State Government has banned the use of tricycles and shuttle buses.

Governor Willie Obiano stated yesterday that the decision was made in order to address the state’ s security challenges.

Prof Solo Chukwulobelu, the State Government’s Secretary, said tinted spectacles were also prohibited on shuttle buses.

” The prior prohibition on the usage of motorbikes during the day and night in larger Onitsha and Awka areas remains in full force, ” he stated. Any motorcycle discovered in these areas will be seized and forfeited.

” Motorcycles, tricycles, and shuttle buses are now prohibited in all parts of the state between the hours of 7 p. m. and 6 a. m. daily, with effect from Saturday, May 29, 2021, and for one month in the first instance. “

A separate attack on an army base in northeastern Nigeria rocked the region amid rising insecurity, with militant groups killing more than 30 soldiers. The attackers were recognized as members of the Islamic State’ s regional affiliate.
