Air Force Bombs Wedding Guests In Niger

A Nigerian Air Force Alpha Jet has shelled a wedding venue, killing some wedding guests at a remote community in Niger State, “PRNigeria” reports.

The airstrikes were targeting bandits and insurgents in the area.

The airstrike in which some armed bandits and cattle rustlers were killed took place at Genu town in Niger State, the blog reported on Saturday.

Ortom Speaks About Herdsmen Killings

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has vowed to take action against the unabated attacks by herdsmen in his state.

Ortom said it is time to stop crying over herdsmen attacks and take action against them.

The Governor spoke during a media parley at the state’s Government House on Saturday.

He stressed that his administration would take steps to protect the people of the state from marauding killer herdsmen.

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State has decried the use of social media to threaten Nigeria’s democracy.

The Governor at a dinner to commemorate Nigeria’s Democracy Day on Saturday at the Government House, Jos, said some Nigerians were using social media to propagate their personal interests at the detriment of upholding the democratic values of Nigeria.

The Governor admonished Nigerians to be responsible, careful and guard the country’s democracy jealously.

Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State has lamented the latest bandits attack on local communities in the Northwest state.

Speaking in a broadcast on Saturday, the Zamfara governor said the insecurity challenges in the state are getting worse.

According to Matawalle, banditry has reverted to how it used to be before his administration.

Al Mustapha Speaks About Boko Haram

Retired Major Hamza Al Mustapha said he has done some research and concluded that the 12-year-old Boko Haram insurgency can be ended in a short time.

Al Mustapha, who was a former Chief Security Officer (CSO) to Gen. Sani Abacha, gave the advice in an interview with NAN.

Al Mustapha also advised the new army chief to work in synergy with other security agencies to ensure success over the insurgency in Nigeria.
