Fulani Herdsmen Invade Another Yoruba Settlement
Fulani herdsmen have attacked a farm belonging to the spokesman of the Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at Offa in Offa LGA of the State.

It was gathered that the herdsmen, who migrated from Idanre in Osun State, launched an attack on the farmers at about 1800hours of Friday evening.
One person was seriously injured in the attack on the farm located behind Offa University.
According to the spokesman of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, in the State, Babawale Zaid Afolabi, the farmers resisted the attack and in the attempt to overpower the suspected herdsmen, one farmer, Yakub Salasi (27) sustained serious injuries.

Boko Haram Unveils New Leader
One month after the death of Abubakar Shekau, a 24-year-old, Bakura Modu, has emerged as the new leader of Boko Haram, which controls the Lake Chad region and the Sambisa forest in Borno State, North-East Nigeria.

The new leader, who appeared in a video, spoke of the readiness of the group to work with the International State in Iraq and Syria.
His statement in Arabic was said to have confirmed the death of Boko Haram leader, Shekau, as he prayed for Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the former spiritual leader.

We Will Pass Electoral Bill Before July Ending – Reps
The House of Representatives has said it will pass the Electoral Act 2010 (Amendment) Bill before the National Assembly goes on its two-month annual recess in July.

The committee report on the bill has not been considered almost four months after it was laid.
The Chairman of the House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Benjamin Kalu, in his response to our correspondent’s enquiry did not give a specific date for the passage but stated that it would be passed before the end of July.
Police Arrest Bandit, Recover AK-47 Rifle In Kaduna
The Police Command in Kaduna State has said that its operatives arrested a suspected bandit and recovered an AK-47 rifle in the Kudaru forest of Saminaka, Lere Local Government Area of the state.

ASP Mohammed Jalige, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, disclosed this in a statement in Kaduna on Saturday.
According to him, the operatives noticed the suspicious disposition of the occupants of the said vehicle and tried to flag them down, but they instantly parked some distance away and took to their heels into the forest.
