A 19- year- old young Ugandan girl identified as Olivia Nassanga on Wednesday, May 26, fainted in Mityana Magistrate Court where she had visited for her bail application, which comes after her release from Mityana Prison.
Ms Rhoda Bukirwa, the mother of the deceased, and a resident of Maanyi Sub County, Mityana District, revealed that her late daughter had been prosecuted for obtaining money by false pretense from one individual, Owen Kawuki, who she had reportedly lured that she was pregnant with his child.
Ms Rhoda, however, blames Kawuki of being behind her daughter’s demise.

” My daughter had reported to court purposely for her bail obligation where she was was given a drink by Kawuki, which we suspect could contain some chemical substance that could have caused her demise, ” she mentioned.
According to Ms Rhoda, her daughter on her death- bed made those confessions. ” She informed me that Kawuki offered her a drink telling her that the discrepancy between them certainly don’ t make them to be at loggerheads. ” She disclosed.
A lawyer by name Jamie’ s Kalungi reportedly saw the now deceased, Nassanga, lying in a court in a poor state, prior to the hearing session.
Ms Rhoda reportedly informed the deceased’s s lawyer, Mr Apollo Kazungu, who happens to be present in the court but in a different office.
According to Ms Rhoda, Mr Kazungu in turn offered his car, Which they used to convey Nassanga to the nearest health center. She was later transferred to Mityana General Hospital where she gave up the ghost.
The suspect, Kawuki, has been apprehended by the police as an investigation into the case takes the course.
The spokesperson for the Wamala region police, Ms Racheal Kawala disclosed; ” We have taken the suspect, Owen Kawuki, into custody to assist us with an investigation into the real cause of Nassanga death. ” She, however, added that, ” the body of the deceased is at Mityana General Hospital mortuary awaiting a post-mortem report, to establish the real cause of her death.
